Pastor David R. Thomasson
David R. Thomasson is the pastor of Troy Baptist Temple in Troy, Ohio. He was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina. At the age of ten, he was saved during a Vacation Bible School. During the summer of 1991, he surrendered to Godís call to full-time ministry. In the fall of 1991, he enrolled at the Crown College of the Bible and graduated with a Bachelor of Biblical Studies in Church Ministries in 1996. While attending college, he was involved in the bus and childrenís ministries. He also had the opportunity to intern in Speedwell, TN at Emmanuel Baptist Church (with Pastor Don Proffitt) during his junior and senior years.
After graduation, Pastor Thomasson served in different ministries as a staff member, Christian school teacher, and assistant pastor.
In September of 2005, the Lord called Pastor Thomasson to East Side Baptist Church in Greenwood, South Carolina to be the senior pastor. Over the next ten years, the church grew and saw many saved, baptized, and discipled. Throughout 2014, the Lord worked in Pastor Thomassonís heart, showing him that He had something else for him to do.
In February of 2015, the Lord called Pastor Thomasson, his wife Elisabeth and their children, Anna and Aaron, to Troy Baptist Temple, in Troy, Ohio.
Brad Klepacz received Jesus Christ as his personal saviour at the age of seventeen through the faithful witness of a Christian friend. He graduated from Wright State University with a B.A. in Social Studies Education and a Masterís in Education. In 2003, during the last year of college, God called him to ministry with Galatians 1:1. Since then, he has had the privilege to attend Tabernacle Baptist Bible College in Virginia Beach, teach in and administer Christian schools for seven years, and to lead a youth group for four years.
He currently serves with Pastor Thomasson here at Troy Baptist Temple as youth director and Sunday school superintendent. He enjoys time with his wife Sara and children Paul and Lydia.
Micah Betzner grew up in Howe, IN and was active at Faith Baptist Church in Angola, Indiana for over ten years. He was saved at home around the age of twelve. In 2005 he moved to Troy, Ohio, where he started attending Troy Baptist Temple and graduated from high school in 2006. After graduating, he went to Ambassador Baptist College for four years where he graduated with a Certificate in Bible and a B.B.S. in Second Man Christian Education. While at college, he served at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, helping in the choir, Sunday school, nursing home ministry, and any other area where help was needed. In 2009, he served as a summer intern at Troy Baptist Temple.
After college, he returned to serve at Troy Baptist Temple. He came on staff in May, 2010, and assists the pastor in whatever areas of ministry that may need his assistance, including but not limited to, bus ministry, outreach, music, and office work. It was also at Troy Baptist Temple that he met Sarah, and married her on August 16, 2014.
Mary Burchell is the daughter of veteran missionaries, Ralph and Janet Burchell. Raised in Japan, Mary was saved at the age of four and helped in her parentís ministries until her graduation from high school. In 2004, she moved to Lancaster, California to attend West Coast Baptist College, from which she graduated in 2008, having earning her Associates in Secretarial Science and Bachelors in Bible and Secondary Education. During her college years, she served at Lancaster Baptist Church in different ministries including nursery, Sunday school, bus, Cactus Kids Club, and choir. After graduation, she moved to Greenwood, SC where she worked for seven years at East Side Baptist Church. Mary joined our staff at Troy Baptist Temple in the summer of 2015 to be the church secretary.
